Kewtech EZYPAT Plus
The Kewtech EZYPAT Plus is a battery powered manual PAT tester. It has single button automatic test sequences for Class I, Class II and extension leads, making it easy and intuitive to use. Test measurements are clear and easy to read thanks to the large backlit display. The Pass/Fail status is further enhanced by a green or red backlit screen. Test data and appliance information can be recorded using the accompanying KEWPAT app.
The EZYPAT can perform approximately 1,400 test on a single set of six standard AA batteries. The test lead is supplied with an interchangeable probe and croc clip. One great feature of the EZYPAT Plus is the ability to cancel the resistance of the test lead by simply pressing the Null button.
The EZYPAT Plus performs the earth continuity test at 200mA, so it is safe to use on all equipment, including IT equipment. The selectable 500V/250V insulation tests allows surge protected equipment to be tested. On battery power, the test sequence for Class I and Class II equipment includes a substitute leakage test, or the tester can be connected to a 230V/110V supply for a leakage and load test at 230V/110V.

The Ezypat Plus is powered by six AA batteries. The expected battery life is approximately 1,400 tests.
What differentiates the ‘Plus’ model from the standard Ezypat, is that the Ezypat Plus can be connected to a mains supply to carry out a leakage and load test at the supply voltage.
The supplied soft carry case has front and rear sections for storing the tester and accessories.
The 2m silicone rubber test lead has an interchangeable crocodile clip and test probe. Being able to swap out the normal clip for the test probe is useful for testing appliances with less accessible metal parts. The test lead has standard 4mm shrouded connectors, so replacing a lost attachment or cable in the future, shouldn’t be a problem.
The resistance of the test lead can also be ‘Nulled’. The nulling process ensures that the resistance of the test lead does not influence the measured resistance of the equipment under test. The test lead is connected to the earth terminal on the test instrument using the supplied brass pin and then simply press and hold the ‘NULL’ button for 2 seconds.
The Ezypat Plus can be connected to either a 230V or 110V supply. The leakage and load tests are carried out at the supply voltage, so when connected to a 110V supply, the tests are carried out at 110V. In this example we are using our 110V power adaptor (not included), to connect to the Ezypat Plus to a 110V site transformer.
Automatic test sequences for Class I and Class II appliances are started with a single button press. The results are easy to read on a large clear display. The backlit display also illuminates green for a pass and red for a fail. The earth continuity test is carried out at 200mA, so it can be safely used on all equipment without the risk of causing damage to sensitive electronic components. The insulation test can be set to either 500V or 250V. For most equipment, the 500V test should be used, but the 250V test can be used for equipment containing surge protection circuits that would otherwise result in a false fail at 500V.
A short red IEC lead is included for testing extension leads. The resistance of the IEC lead can also be nulled. The extension lead test sequence includes a polarity test in addition to the earth continuity and insulation tests.
When connected to a mains supply, either 230V or 110V, the Ezypat Plus will carry out a leakage and load test at the supply voltage. This will power up the appliance and measure the leakage and load current. On battery only power, a substitute leakage test at 30V is carried out.
The Ezypat Plus can be used with the Kewpat app to record the test results. The free to use Kewpat app is available from Google Play or the Apple App Store. The test results are manually entered into the app along with the appliance id, description, location, site and customer details. The results can then be exported from the app in a pdf or csv file format.
