Portable Appliance Tester - Stoke-on-Trent

We are currently recruiting for a Portable Appliance Tester to join us at the Alton Towers Resort, the UK's only attraction that specialises in making Britain happy!

In this role you will be responsible for carrying out PAT on Resorts portable appliances, keep testing records up to date and provide updates on status. Assist with all aspects of compliance maintenance as required ensuring the agreed standards are met.

Main Responsibilities:

Undertake Portable Appliance Testing as required on all types of equipment across resort- Keep records up to date and feedback any issues to the RCTL
Assist will all aspects of compliance maintenance as required such as Legionella monitoring, emergency light testing and RCD testing
Assist with general maintenance as required to ensure high standards of product availability, operational presentation and customer satisfaction.
Considers other departments requirements and provides guidance and support as appropriate.
Ensure maintenance work is within all relevant legislation, guidelines and code of practice and that all procedures are adhered to.
Worksheets are complete detailing exact nature of work carried out.
Carries out fault diagnosis on all equipment as necessary.

About you;

We are looking for someone who has a recognised PAT qualification and PAT software operation. Having previous experience of basic electrical repairs and all round maintenance skills with a willingness to adopt all disciplines of general maintenance. if you are highly enthusiastic, self motivation and someone who take pride in their work, this may be the job for you.

The role is full time, permanent averaging 40 hours per week and will include weekends and bank holidays as required.

Job Description

To carry out portable appliance testing at our portfolio of clients as mentioned above including smaller commercial and private residential clients - all to a high standard. You will work remotely coming to the Head Office once per month for a team meeting/training and restock for the next month. As such you will be responsible for yourself day to day. Work is booked in by our office staff and this is put into schedules which you have access to. You will deal with clients at their site and will understand that communication is vital.

Responsibilities and Duties

Drive to and from customers premises using company vehicle. (driving license required)
Carry out portable appliance testing at various pre-booked sites.
Communicate any problems/issues that arise with both the office and the client in a professional way.
Send job reports through on a daily basis.
Keep on top of your administration - reports/job cards.
Manage yourself on a daily basis to perform at a high level consistently.
