The role requires you to undertake electrical safety inspections to portable and similar equipment at clients’ premises throughout the UK.

You will be based from home, with work booked on a weekly basis from our head office.

The position requires travel on a daily basis and often overnight stays for sites further a field.Travel, overnights & expenses will be paid.

Training, equipment, uniform, PPE & a pool van will be provided.

Retail Driver / PAT Tester - Glasgow

Details: The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice is a well established charity located adjacent to the River Clyde in Glasgow City Centre. The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life limiting, progressive illness, and support for their families and carers.

Our retail team provide financial support to the Hospice through our network of 18 charity shops throughout the Glasgow area. Some of these shops sell furniture and this role will predominantly involve the uplift and delivery of furniture between donors, our shops and customers. Key duties will include:

Uplift and delivery of furniture using the hospice van ensuring all stock is handled and transported safely and without damage.
Route planning to ensure efficient use of the van and time.
Uplift and delivery of other stock for the shops as and when required.
Disposal of unsellable items at recycling centres.
Keep van clean and tidy at all times and ensure all driver checks are completed accordingly.
PAT testing of electrical products (full training will be given)
As you are representing the hospice, we expect excellent customer service at all times
Occasional weekend work may be required

Candidates must hold a current vehicle licence sufficient to permit them to drive a large Luton-sized vehicle, and to be capable of moderate to heavy lifting and driving in all weathers and road conditions. Previous multi-drop van delivery experience, preferably in a charity environment, would be beneficial. The van would be stored at the Hospice or at our distribution centre (currently in Hillington) so ideally the candidate would have their own means of travel to these locations.

PAT testing is required as part of this role, a willingness to undertake necessary training to gain PAT testing accreditation/qualification is required.

As the tasks and responsibilities of this position can be varied and at times unpredictable the post holder is expected to be flexible when tasks and responsibilities not covered by this job profile have to be undertaken.
