Portable Appliance Tester - Southampton

Details: Citation Fire & Electrical offer fire, electrical testing and inspection services along with associated remedial works throughout the UK via a field based engineering team. As we continue our expansion programme we are looking for talented individual(s) to join our dynamic engineering team

We currently have an exciting opportunities for experienced Portable Appliance Testers to join our team based in the South. You will be joining us on a full time, permanent basis, working 08:00 – 17:00 Monday – Friday (40 hours per week). In return you will receive a competitive salary and overtime.

The role requires you to carry out safety inspections and electrical tests to the equipment at clients’ premises within the South of England. The position requires travel on a daily basis.

All test equipment, uniform, PPE & a van will be provided.

As the role is customer facing good communication skills are essential.

Experience of "PAT Testing" is preferred and you must hold the City & Guilds 2377 or equivilent qualification before appointment.

Volunteer Pat Tester - South Wales

Details: PAT Testing Volunteer

Task Description

Purpose of Role: To test donated electrical items to ensure they are suitable for sale within our shops. All necessary training will be provided

Location: Emmaus South Wales currently have stores in a number of locations, this role is available in either: Tremains Road, Bridgend; Porthcawl; Maesteg;

Time: Flexible. A minimum of one day per week is desirable although there is flexibility. Our shops are generally open between 9 – 4.30pm.

Tasks

To undertake accredited PAT test training
Once trained to fully PAT test donated electrical items following the correct procedures
To undertake Manual Handling Training
Record accurately each item that has been tested and the appropriate result
Work with the relevant manager to ensure all passed items are made available for sale in a timely fashion
Work with the manager to ensure failed items are handled in accordance with Emmaus South Wales procedures

Willingness to undertake accredited training, with support if required (essential to undertake the role)
