We are proud of the services we provide and with ambitious plans to continue this rapid growth, we are looking for a PAT Tester to join our team at our office in Newcastle. This is a great opportunity within our Housing Management business, following the success of the Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract win.
As you join the team you will carry out Portable Appliance Testing of mobile electrical equipment in a housing environment. Your will also carry out HMO programmed testing of Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting and Fire Extinguishers.
Your duties will include -
P.A.T. is carried in accordance with the current edition of The Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment and in accordance with Procedures and Policies.
To produce and maintain a branch inventory of all electrical equipment and appliances/tools using IT databases and spreadsheets and to ensure that planned maintenance schedules are kept to.
To carry out visual Inspections and PAT testing on electrical equipment, ensuring all results are accurate and complete and to maintain all paperwork and electronic data records relevant to the work carried out and to ensure completion of the job is confirmed and a comprehensive and accurate history is available for audit purposes, which includes quality, H&S issues and for invoicing purposes
To test electrical equipment at specified time frequencies using a dedicated Portable Appliance Test Instrument at properties within a specified geographical area.
To produce reports of test results and outcome of testing.
To keep a comprehensive diary of all appointments.
Please note that this role does come with a company vehicle, as it does involves extensive travel and some overnight trips. The region you will be expected to cover includes the North East, Yorkshire & Humber Region, aswell as Glasgow and Belfast.

What are we looking for?
You will have an electrical qualification such as the City &Guilds 2377* or an equivalent qualification of the above.
Knowledge of PAT testing Instruments and procedures for ensuring the correct stages of testing are undertaken.
Good understanding of current legislation.
The ability to communicate on a one-to-one basis and produce information in a written form, including completion of all necessary work documentation.
The ability to analyse given test results, ensuring accuracy.
Good written & verbal communication skills in English with excellent Numeracy skills.
Able to understand & follow standard operating procedures.
Able to use a PDA following training.
A full current Driving Licence and able to work alone or as part of a team.
