This role will suit a qualified or certified person with the relevant skills, technical knowledge and experience in PAT testing. To apply for this role, you must hold the required certification in PAT testing (valid within the last three years) and be able to provide evidence of this.

St Helena regularly receives donated electrical items from members of the public, however before they can be resold they must be tested to ensure they are fit for purpose. In this role, you will be responsible for PAT testing the electrical items to ensure they are fit for purpose and resale. You must possess adequate education, training and practical skills appropriate to the nature of the electrical work and be able to perceive risks and avoid hazards which electricity can create.

Office Test Ltd are looking for experienced self-employed PAT Engineers to join our ever-growing London based PAT Testing team.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Good verbal and written communication skills.
An ability to work independently.
Conduct thorough Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Perform quality assurance checks to identify any faults or issues in electrical appliances.
Analyze test results and document findings accurately.
Communicate effectively with clients to explain test outcomes and recommendations.
Maintain testing equipment and ensure it is calibrated correctly for accurate results.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to electrical safety.

The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Portable Appliance Tester (PAT Tester) to become a valued member of our expanding team. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive PAT testing at client locations, ensuring full compliance with the latest safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on a wide range of electrical equipment.

Identify/detect faults and assess potential safety risks in appliances.

Accurately record and document test results.

Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all tests and certification

Requirements:

Relevant PAT testing certification (such as City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent) is essential.

Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.

Capable of testing 150–200 items per day while consistently maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail

Commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills and customer focused.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and be able to manage time effectively

A full, valid UK driving license is essential, along with access to your own vehicle.
