Nescot is recruiting for a PAT and emergency light tester to join the facilities team. This role will also involve assisting with college maintenance duties. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and compliance of electrical appliances and emergency lighting systems across the campus. The standard working hours are typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to start as early as 7:00 AM or finish as late as 7:00 PM, with occasional weekend work.

We are looking for a part-time PAT tester to join our team!

Experience required as the selected candidate would be expected to work independently, as well as working as part of a team.

Ideally would work on a self employed basis with salary dependent upon output.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Portable Appliance Testing.
Forming customer relationships.
Report writing.
Upon successful completion of training and the company’s performance review, the employee will receive specific and further responsibilities.
CONDITIONS

The location of the work will be as required by the company’s contract with its clients, but mainly cover the South Wales/South West area.
The jobholder will be required to work indoors and outdoors as required by the company’s contract with its clients.
The jobholder will be required to work in environments with varying levels of noise.
The jobholder will be required to work towards the company’s Health & Safety standards.
Hours of work for this position are 14 hours per week with an unpaid lunch break of 30 minutes, to be taken part way through the employee’s working day.
The jobholder is required to work to the hours of the contract with the company’s clients.
The jobholder is required to work both independently and with employees and agents of the company.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

It would be expected that the jobholder has basic electrical/mechanical knowledge, and has a fair level of numeracy and literacy.
A City & Guilds or EAL Portable Appliance testing certificate is required
Good communication skills are essential.
All training and educational requirements will be identified and agreed.
The jobholder should be dependable, and have the enthusiasm and motivation required to help the company grow.
The jobholder should have a fair level of fitness as the position involves standing for the majority of the working day.
The jobholder should be in good general health.
Further training, education, information and experience will be supplied by the company.
The jobholder should hold a Full Current Driving Licence, and have access to their own transport.
